
Halloweek runs from October 24-October 31st on Church Street in the heart of Toronto’s Queer Village. This week-long Halloween celebration is full of tricks, treats and more eye candy than you can gobble in one glance
Saturday, October 24th
• Devilicious Culinary Tour opens at all Church Wellesley Village participating restaurants and runs throughout the entire week! A delectable 3 course menu featuring seasonal Halloween delights.
• Join Toronto’s Queer Family community in the afternoon at the 519 Community Center for its
2nd annual Halloween Hullabaloo!
Sunday, October 25th
• The Village Scare Scape contest begins. Village businesses compete for prizes and the attention of our appointed celebrity judges as interior and exterior decor installations start popping up all over the village throughout the week.
Wednesday, October 28th
• The Queen of Halloween competition returns to Church Street this year for one night only in the heart of the Village. Join in the fun at Woody’s and Sailors Bar as Toronto’s own Miss Conception hosts an evening of fantastical drag performances featuring some of Canada’s most popular and stunning female impersonators.
Thursday, October 29th
• Looking to get rid of some ghosts in your closet? Check out the Church Street Drag and Leather Boo-zarre and Psychic Fair at Play on Church. For last minute costume ideas and a great night out, Play on Church is hosting a night of Halloween hilarity as Toronto’s Drag and Leather community come together in support of the PWA Foodbank.
Friday, October 30th
• Hosted by Toronto’s Out and Out Club, Church Street comes alive in celebration of “Devils Night” with the 3rd annual Church Street Jack O Lantern competition. Try your hand at carving your own pumpkin or cheer on your favourite team as village people such as yourself compete for tons of prizes during this side walk event. Winning designs will be judged by a panel of celebrity judges and pumpkins can be purchased with all proceeds going to a designated charity.
Saturday, October 31st
• Happy Halloween! Our friends at Pride Toronto kick start the big day with Pride Toronto’s Halloween Party at Cawthra Park featuring a full day and night of live entertainment and music, a vendor market and more. Join us at their north stage in the Park for the annual Church Street Halloween Costume Contest beginning at 7pm.
Stick around in the village all night for the closing night extravaganza, the annual Block Party! featuring at the south end of Church Street, world-renown celebrity DJ Deko-ze!
Once again the Church Wellesley Village Business Improvement Area will be closing down 5 city blocks to vehicular traffic from 6pm to 2:30am for Toronto’s biggest outdoor Halloween celebration.
